Sherway Gardens is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a special Gallery in the Garden Retrospective Exhibit which illustrates, through photos and archival newspaper clippings, the history of Sherway Gardens since its grand opening in 1971. It will be on display until Saturday, February 26 in the corridor at door 3. For more information call 416-621-1070 or visit www.sherwaygardens.ca Exhibit photo panels document how Sherway Gardens has changed over the years with the addition of the 1987 Holt Renfrew wing, and the Brettons wing (now the Sporting Life wing) in 1989. At the time of the Bretton’s wing addition, the original picnic court called Gourmet Fair, was moved to its current location on a second level. Its signature Teflon-coated fibreglass tented roof structure earned a Canadian Consulting Engineering award of merit for its design and is still a widely recognized landmark on the Etobicoke skyline.
