Sherway Gardens LEGO
Store Opening

More great coverage over the weekend at the LEGO Store Opening.

Hundreds of shoppers stopped in to see what the commotion was all about at Sherway Gardens. Children were playing with LEGO toys and adults were reliving their childhood memories.

For all of you Star Wars fans, Danish LEGO Master Steve Gerling, built an eight-foot-tall R2-D2, all the while encouraging shoppers to build at nearby tables. Others were consumed with the LEGO video games or stations where they could assemble their own LEGO character.

LEGO Store Grand Opening Weekend!

at Sherway Gardens -
May 13 - 15

8 FOOT LEGO R2D2 MODEL BUILD IN SHERWAY SQUARE
Steve Gerling, LEGO Master Builder will begin the 8 foot LEGO R2D2 model build on Friday, May 13 at 11am. Sherway Square will be set up with 8-10 tables around a 4 foot platform; each table will contain LEGO bricks and building instructions.

Once the building starts, kids are invited to come to the tables to use the LEGO pieces to build one giant brick that is four times the size of a regular brick, which LEGO Master Builder Gerling will use to help build the model. Participating kids will receive a free LEGO Star Wars(TM) Certificate of Achievement for helping the Master Builders (while supplies last).

While LEGO Master Builder Gerling works on the LEGO R2D2 model, there will be appearances throughout the weekend by the Star Wars 501st Legion. The build will continue throughout the entire weekend until the last piece is added on Sunday at 5pm.
