Experience the Waterfront Through Another’s Eyes My Waterfront Photo Exhibit launches with Artist Preview Gala Queen’s Quay Terminal – Friday, September 30

See Toronto’s Waterfront through the eyes of a photographer at the My Waterfront Photo Exhibit on display in Queen’s Quay Terminal (207 Queens Quay West) from October 1-10. The exhibit showcases images from the 50 winning finalists of the My Waterfront Photo contest and launches on Friday, September 30 from 6-8pm with an Artist Preview Gala in Queen’s Quay Terminal to honour the finalists.

Until September 1, amateur photographers are asked to submit their original photos to
the My Waterfront Photo Contest for a chance to be featured in the My Waterfront Photo Exhibit. Photos are posted online where viewers can vote on their favourite pictures. The photo with the most LIKES receives a Gift Certificate for either the Radisson Admiral Hotel or The Westin Harbour Castle Hotel. At the end of the contest period, a panel of celebrity judges will review all submissions and 50
finalists will be selected and offered an opportunity to be showcased in the My Waterfront Photo Exhibit at Queen’s Quay Terminal. Each photo will be printed to a 24x36” poster and mounted by iPrintExpress and on display at the award-winning Queen’s Quay Terminal building from October 1-10, 2011. All entries will be judged on overall impact, artistic merit and composition and technical excellence. Gallery in the Garden: Cityscape / Landscape 2 Acrylic paintings by Neil Whitworth and Pam Pols Sherway Gardens until September 17, 2011


Sherway Gardens introduces Gallery in the Garden: Cityscape/Landscape 2, an exhibit that displays two artists' bold, colourful and exhuberant landscapes and cityscapes. Neil Whitworth’s sleek and styled canvases contrast and complement the thick and textured surfaces created by Pam Pols. Created in acrylic paint on canvas or wood, they demonstrate the diverse ways in which this media can be used. The exhibit is on display until Saturday, September 17 in the corridor at door 3.

Etobicoke artist Neil Whitworth was born in Montreal and he attended the Montreal Museum of Fine Art and other private art schools in the area. Neil’s paintings are found in private collections in Canada, USA and Great Britain and in corporate collections including Honeywell and Inco. Neil is a member of The Etobicoke Art Group, Neilson Park Creative Centre and an elected member since 1998 of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) and The Etobicoke Art Group.

Neil Whitworth - A Walk in the Winter

Brampton artist, Pam Pols was born in Leamington, England, and arrived in Canada in 1953. In the 1960s while working as a teacher in Peel Region, she earned a Supervisors Certificate in Art from the Onatio College of Art and then English Honours and Fine Arts degress from York University. Pam's artistic endeavors were placed on hold until she retired in 1997 and has since been studying with Steve Rose, Lila Lewis, Brian Smith, and John Leonard.Her work has been exhibited widely across the GTA at locations including the McMichael Canadian Collection 2009-2010 Progression Exhibition, and juried exhibitions held at the Art Gallery of Mississauga, Neilson Park Creative Centre, Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery, and Beaux Arts Brampton, as well as many smaller venues.
