LAST WEEK TO VISIT THE
FULLY SUSTAINABLE
DREAM HOME R-HOUSE
AT THE NATIONAL HOME SHOW!

The Dream Home R-House sustainable (green) vocabulary elucidates 5 sustainable principles: wise land use, a judicious approach to the earth’s resources, high indoor air quality, attunement to the sun, and high-performance energy efficiency. The Dream Home R-House is designed to generate its own energy from renewable sources, harvest rain water and manage its own waste.

The Dream Home R-House is recyclable due to its modular nature. After being on display at the 2012 National Home Show it will be re-purposed on a rural site where it will be developed ecologically. Pre-engineered and factory built pieces have been delivered to the site for erection thereby reducing construction waste.

The green design philosophy is ‘net-zero’, meaning its aim is to produce as much energy as it uses. The project deploys both passive and active green design strategies and green materials in creative and energy efficient ways in pursuit of a rigorous LEED gold certification.

The Dream Home R-House is oriented with air circulation, views, and solar gain in mind. In the middle of its planning logic, the central indoor-outdoor courtyard acts to induce natural air ventilation though stack effect.

Our sustainable landscape principles stand at the core of the sustainable landscaping proposed: using Local Resources and Local Talent, protecting Healthy Soil, selecting Responsible Plants, and Smart Watering. (Ground Creations, Sunflower Gardens and Sheridan Nurseries)

A living wall and indoor water feature in the courtyard acts as an indoor source of fresh-air, natural cooling, and a means to remove indoor air contaminants. (Tropics North)

An innovative new 100% emission-free green energy heating and cooling source will provided for the radiant floor systems and ducted air. (HeatWave and CoolWave by Dyna Current Technologies)
