Bier Markt, Toronto’s premier Belgian-inspired Brasserie, has opened a new location at the prestigious Shops at Don Mills located at 7 O’Neill Road and promises to delight the culinary taste buds and quench the refined thirst of Torontonians visiting the city’s newest dining and shopping hotspot.

The new 6,700 square foot location boasts Bier Markt’s first ever ‘street view’ kitchen that provides guests with a never-before-seen glimpse into the inner-workings of the kitchen from the street. It also offers an exclusive kitchen-side Chef’s Table for a more intimate dining experience.

Bier Markt Don Mills has a selection of over 145 brands of beer from over 30 countries and delicious European-inspired cuisine, including Moules, Charcuterie, Croques, Fondue, Steak Frites, and a 40-oz Rib Eye. It features a 95 foot bar with 46 draught lines, showcases a Glass Keg Fridge behind the bar, seats up to 200 guests in the dining room and up to 120 guests on the beautiful Boulevard Patio.

Bier Markt Don Mills’ décor and atmosphere echoes that of its sister locations with strong Belgian and French influences highlighted with dark woods and rich finishes giving it a real European-inspired Brasserie look and feel. Margaret Rudi, a Montreal-based architect and designer designed the interior of Bier Markt Don Mills and is also responsible for the design of Bier Markt King Street West. Bier Markt Don Mills offers a scrumptious range of annual Culinary Feastivϋls defined by the season and created by Executive Chef Michael Cipollo including Fondue (January – February ), Shellfish (May-June), Oktoberfest (September – October) and Game (November – December). WINTERFEST AND SHOPS AT DON MILLS!

WINTERFEST ON TORONTO'S WATERFRONT
The holiday season has made it down to the Toronto Waterfront, with lights, ice skating, kids shows and the Santa Cruise. (www.waterfrontbia.com)

The Mariposa Santa Cruise boards at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and attending kids get treats and a free photo with Santa. The cruise is $12 per person, or free for children under six. (www.mariposacruises.com)

Pets can also get their photos taken with Santa at PawsWay from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. for $10. (www.pawsway.ca)

The Cavalcade of Lights continues across the Waterfront in four locations: the Tall Ship on the Amsterdam Bridge, the Music Garden, the Firehall, and the Westin Harbour Castle.

Free ice skating is at the Harbourfront centre from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and there are free puppet shows in Queen's Quay Terminal from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (www.harbourfrontcentre.com)

HOLIDAYS AT SHOPS AT DON MILLS
Shops at Don Mills is celebrating the holidays with family-friendly events throughout December with Santa, train rides, a skating rink and more. (www.shopsatdonmills.ca)

All aboard the miniature train through Shops at Don Mills, going on a tour past past the decorative holiday window displays and trees. The train is $3 per ride, with tickets being sold at guest services. Cash only. Check website for dates and times.

Kids can join Santa and his helpers for breakfast at Jack Astors and get their picture taken with him after the meal. Tickets are first-come, first-serve and $15, plus donation of a non-perishable food item. Saturday, December 17 from 9am-11am.

Santa Claus is just hanging out at Shops at Don Mills, strolling through the shops, handing out treats and talking to children. Free. Saturday December 17 from 11am-2pm, Sunday December 18 from 12pm-4pm and Saturday December 24 from 10am-2pm.

Outdoor Skating – Coming Soon - An outdoor skating rink will open for the winter soon. Free. Check website for more information on when it will be open.

Breakfast with Santa at Shops at Don Mills

Santa is having a breakfast and you are invited! Join Santa and his helper and celebrate the holiday season with a delicious breakfast at Jack Astors on Saturday, December 10 and Saturday, December 17 from 9:00am until 11:00am.

Each child will get a memento of their visit with Santa and will be able to enter Shops at Don Mills' colouring contest. Santa will be available for pictures to help you remember this wonderful occasion so don't forget your camera.

Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis for $15 per person (cash only) and will be available from Guest Services. In addition, if you are able to please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the North York Harvest Food Bank for their Christmas food drive.

Breathe in the crisp winter air during a miniature train ride through Shops at Don Mills! Hop aboard for a magical tour and a firsthand glimpse of the decorative holiday windows as the miniature train travels through the centre square, past the beautifully lit trees and the finest shops!
